Audio-Technica combines exceptionally low-noise large-diaphragm condenser elements with a shotgun design for extremely tight polar patterns, perfect for long-range sound recordings. With a length of 35.5 cm and 56.8cm, the directional BP28 and BP28L shotgun microphones have been specially designed to meet the needs of broadcast, film, television, recording outdoors and theatre applications. Particularly suitable for long-distance sound recording in filmmaking or in theatre, the BP28 and BP28L have a very low noise level (8 dB), and a transformer-coupled output results in a smooth sonic character. The microphone provide extremely high sensitivity (-28 dBV), wide dynamic range (135 dB) and high-SPL capability (143 dB). The patented acoustic port design maintains directionality across the entire frequency range.
